Foundations of Company Valuation

by Prof. Dr. Ulf Brüggemann

Every asset, financial as well as real, has a value. The key to successfully investing in and managing these assets lies in understanding what this value is and why the value is what it is. Every asset can be valued but some assets are easier to value than others and the details of valuation vary from case to case. However, there are basic principles of valuation that apply to almost any asset.

The objectives of this course are to:

1. understand and apply common techniques to value companies,

2. communicate your valuation outcome through an informative analyst report, and

3. critically evaluate valuation outcomes and analyst reports by others.
