The Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Universidad de La Habana are proud to host this year the 16th edition of the International Summer School in Economics and Management in Havana, Cuba. Students from all over the world are invited to participate.

During the two-week program of the summer school, graduate and undergraduate students from around the world have the opportunity to attend courses taught by professors from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and other reputed institutions. We offer a variety of interesting courses in different sectors of economics and business, such as Development Economics, Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship. In Cuba’s capital Havana international students are given the opportunity to work on frequently discussed topics that are especially interesting and relevant in this international context. The courses will be taught in English and accredited with ECTS points. The exams will take place at the end of the summer school.

Alongside the academic part of our program, we provide an intense intercultural exchange between European and Cuban students. On weekends and after class, you are invited to attend numerous cultural events and activities such as a Cuban movie night, concerts, sports competitions and excursions.

ISSEM service offers now available!

For 2018 ISSEM participation fees for the ISSEM have been waved. This is made possible by the financial support the Program recieves from the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) / DAAD and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. The financial support covers the courses and some basic activities, like the German/Cuban football match, the alumni movie night and the closing ceremony which are included free of charge.

Additional services, like our visa/tourist card service or the social activities anounced during our info meeting are offered on a voluntary basis for a small surcharge by WIWEX which has been partner and coorganizer of the ISSEM over the last 10 years.
