Amma Serwaah-Panin, Ph.D.

Amma Serwaah-Panin is a fourth year Ph.D. candidate in economics based at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center, and the Technical University of Berlin. She is an applied microeconomist whose research interests include informal institutions in developing countries and the measurement of risk and time preferences.  She has been involved in RCTs and conducted lab experiments in Senegal, Ghana, India, and Germany.



 She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, USA and a M.Sc. from the Toulouse School of Economics, France. Prior to commencing her doctoral studies, she worked with an NGO focused on non-formal education in Senegal and as a research assistant with the economics policy think tank Bruegel in Brussels.
