Information Management and IT Strategy
by Prof. Dr. Till Winkler
"From the back room to the board room" - over the past 10 years, information technology (IT) has turned from a commodity, which was mostly regarded as a cost factor, to a strategic asset.
Executives today need to have a fundamental understanding of IT's strategic role in the enterprise in order to maximize its contribution to the bottom line. Key questions treated in this course include the assessment of IT costs and benefits, return on investment (ROI) calculation, the right form of IT organization and governance, the establishment of best-practice processes for IT operations, as well as the question of outsourcing.
Course participants will obtain a fundamental understanding on how to leverage IT to achieve a competitive advantage and how to develop the competency to successfully manage and practically engage business stakeholders in IT projects.
