Professor Dr. Martin Spiess

Professor Dr. Spiess completed his graduate studies in psychology and statistics at Universität Konstanz in Germany, earning his PhD at the Department of Economics and Statistics in 1995.

Since 2008 he is professor of "Psychologische Methodenlehre" at the Universität Hamburg. Prior to this, from 2006 until 2008, he held the chair for Statistics and Empricial Methods at the International Institute of Management at Universität Flensburg.

From 1998 until 2008, he worked at the German Institute of Economic Research (DIW) in Berlin in the Socioeconomic Panel project group, where he was responsible for extrapolation, weighting, random sampling, statistical modeling and non-response.
